The Power of  Media and Information and the Responsibility of the Users
    
          Media gives information in any way possible, it not only can inform but also can entertain us in a way that some of the content of media can be very appealing to the eyes of the people in a community. Also media isn’t only a one way road, it is actually a lane where people can interact and share opinions, ideas and other things. It is also a place where it would be easier to connect you to your friends and love ones who is far away and is out of reach from you. Media in short is a medium used for sharing, using, and collecting information.
     The internet is now the biggest platform of media Information and there are a lot of people who cannot be controlled and uses the internet as an advantage to spread fake news or false information. There are also who use the internet for bad intentions like bullying, scamming other people and etc. That is why it is very important for a person to check the authenticity of the site or of the information being posted online. Our main source of to get information is the media. Without media, we will never be updated on the day-today events that is happening in our surrounding. Media is used to raise awareness but sometimes they use it for biases. In using the media, we must follow some rules and etiquettes. Information is powerful but we must not abuse it.  Though media and information literacy comes in different formats, it is powerful enough to change the way a person’s perspective towards life. From the news and documentaries we have seen on television in urban areas to the radios and newspapers that have reached our countrymen in rural places strongly proves that anyone can have an access with this and from that, the power that it establishes can change the way an individual thinks. Many of us knew how to engage with media and the information it conveys but there is a small percentage who really does knew how to use it in an effective and a rightful way. It is indeed that media and information literacy widely covered-up our lives nowadays as there is a rapid growth of population of humankind engaging media and its information.
          
       Media and information literacy focuses on the skills how an individual engage with media and information effectively, also developing critical thinking and life-long learning skills to socialize and became an active citizen. In connection to this it is important for us to be open to anything but always remember what is moral and is needed when using media. Also media can be a platform that can influence people that is why we should be open to anything on what we see in the internet. As users of the internet, we should be responsible enough to react, comment and share things that is appropriate things in the web. We the users of the internet, has the power to things that is happening in the web. It is up to us if we show  or negativity to the world through media. The influence of media has become so powerful today because it can easily influence people positively and or negatively . Now, we live under the power of media as a source of information and entertainment that enhance the knowledge of the users through the different types of news or events in our society or environment.
